Tips On How To Take Care Of Your Eyes

The eyes,  believe are the most beautiful feature on a woman’s face. They don’t just serve the purpose of seeing, but also reflect our moods. They are the most expressive asset that god has gifted us. The eyes can be playful and bring lots of excitement on a dull face.

 1. Regular eye check up: It is recommended that you should pay visit to an eye doctor every 3 months.

2. Exercise your eye muscles: While working or otherwise also one should exercise the eye muscles regularly. Don’t see the screen continuously. Try to focus on far off objects regularly.
*First of all, washing your hands regularly is something you need to do first.

*You can rub your palms, to generate heat. Close your eyes and place your palms such that you should not apply too much pressure on your eye ball.

* Move your eyes in such a manner that you can draw “8” with them.

* Move your eye upwards and downwards as far as possible. Repeat for 6-8 times. Blink few times to relax eye muscles. Repeat the exercise for right and left.

*Massage your eyes: Take two towels. Wet one in hot water and the other in cold water. Now press them slightly on the eyes alternately. But remember to end with the cold compress. For your eye lids, close your eyes and move your fingers in a circular motion over your eye lids. Make sure that you don’t apply too much pressure and your fingers are clean.

3. Ensure that your diet includes vitamin A , B complex and  vitamin C: that means  you should include lots of carrots, spinach, oranges, pumpkin, apricot, peaches, milk, pomegranate, beet root, apples, cod liver oil, cereal, nuts, liver and Amla. Vitamin B complex ensures redness is reduced and is also good for eyes sensitive to light. A healthy diet ensures healthy mucous membrane which line our tear glands and tear ducts.

4. Careful choice of make-up: one should choose make-up products which are non-irritant. Replace make –up after every 6 months to avoid bacterial infection. Avoid direct contact of the cosmetic like liner with internal surface of eye. Also, in case you are using eye pencils, do ensure that they are well sharpened in order to avoid scratching of eye lid.

9. Drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol. This would make sure that you don’t have redness or puffiness.

12. Apply warm olive oil or castor oil with the help of a cotton ball to your eye lashes and eye brows. This will encourage hair growth.

Everybody wants to know the best ways to lose weight the healthy way, but it can be hard to know which tips actually work.

At first I used to get confused about what I should follow and what I should ignore, so I’ve decided to try myself all the healthy weight loss tips I read about in magazines and online.  And as a result, through trying and experimenting, I finally figured out which weight loss ways actually work!  And which don’t …

1. Always combine diet with exercise, don’t prioritize one over the other …

If you always succumb to the temptation of downing a cup of hot, rich chocolate drink in the evenings – the pounds will easily add up within a year. Try cutting off habits like these out of your diet – and you’ll be amazed at the results that you will get.

3. Increase your level of physical exertion …
When you increase your exercising and combine it with a good diet, you are most likely to be successful in losing weight. If you have a house full of crisps and chocolate, there will be temptation everywhere. Cut them out of your shopping list. I find that if I have to make a special journey to get some chocolate, I’m more likely to just eat something that I already have, which is probably healthier!

9. Make exercise social …
Plan a family bike ride, or play Frisbee with your friends. It will be both fun and exercise at the same time!

10. Eat the healthy foods first …

I’m terrible with this, and so I’ve found that letting my boyfriend serve the food means that I don’t snack before it’s served! 14. Always eat from a bowl or plate, so that you can see how much you are eating …
I noticed that I can eat a huge popcorn in the movies and still go to get some desert afterwards, but I can hardly finish a bowl of pop corn when I watch a movie at home. I think when you actually see how much food you are eating, you are more likely to feel full faster.

15. Regularly vary your activities, so you don’t get bored …
We all know what we are not likely to lose much weight the healthy way without exercise, but we also know how boring the exercise routine might get. So what I do, is I weekly change the order of the exercises, and the music I am doing them to, just to keep things fresh and more exciting. And it works! :)

16. De stress …
Develop strategies that calm you down before you get to the stage that you need ‘cheering up’, as you are likely to do this with food. I take a few minutes every four hours to breathe deeply and calm myself down. 17. Eat at home …
Well, first of all it’s cheaper, and second of all, you will hardly find a restaurant that would serve you healthy organic food. And the last, but not least, when eating at home, you can make your portion as small as you like, as those huge dishes they serve in the restaurant do not really help us lose weight, do they?

18. Plan healthy snacks …
I find that if I take a healthy low calorie snack to work, yogurt or fruit, for instance, I’m much less likely to buy chocolate from the vending machine.

19. Pick a high fiber breakfast cereal, as this will fill you up for longer …
And try to have as much fiber as you possibly can, it cleans out our digestive system, so the more of it you have the better!

20. Take a ten minute stroll during your lunch hour …
Or better yet, go for a little slow walk after lunch.  This will keep your metabolism going, and i find that it stops me feeling tired early afternoon too!

21. Plan your week’s meal in advance, so you aren’t tempted by take-aways …
This way you will be able to do your groceries knowing what exactly you’ll be having each day. Which means, there will be less spoiled products at the end of the week and you won’t have to run to the grocery store in the middle of the week for something you suddenly decided to have.

22. Distract yourself from cravings …
I noticed that watching a favorite sitcom or flipping through fashion magazines with tones of skinny gorgeous models helps the most. I also treat myself to a cappuccino or a latte when I get a chocolate craving and it always goes away.

23. Reward yourself …
Make sure that you reward yourself when you lose weight, but not with food! Try new clothes, accessories, salon treatments or an outing with friends.  Buying new beauty products as a treat works best for me!

Tips on Eating Often and Losing Weight

 Most people have been bought up to eat three meals a day, and so this tradition passes on and on through the generations. But did you know that this method of eating can actually cause you to put on weight?

It can lead to snacking, and even over eating. It’s also been linked to high cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels. Eating only two or three meals causes the body to face long stretches without food, and therefore store fat.  So here are my five top tips on how to start eating often and therefore – start losing weight!

1. Make sure you’re buying the right foods!
Soups and whole wheat pasta make much better lunches than chips and burgers.  Before you start making an effort eating more regularly, make sure your fridge is full of healthy food that’s good for you.

2. Plan your meals
It’s much easier to stick to a dieting plan once you actually write it down on a piece of paper. I make a list of what I’ll have for each meal every day for the whole week, and take it with me when grocery shopping.  This way, I have enough food for all the 5 meals for every single day of the week and it also helps me be more organized when it comes to food.

3. Have a schedule
What I did to make sure I have 5 small meals a day was I set an automatic alarm clock on my iPhone, which was telling me it was my meal time 5 times a day.  The first alarm was going off at 8am when I was supposed to have breakfast, then at 11am – when it was time for my first healthy snack, at 1pm – when it was lunch time, at 4pm – for my second snack and for my dinner at 7pm.

Now it has become a part of my daily routine and I don’t really need these notifications any more, but it was a great way to get organized and start eating more often.

4. Don’t have extra snacks!
5 small meals a day is pretty much all you need to feel full and happy the whole day long.  So, when trying to eat regularly, do get rid of biscuits and cakes that can become a real temptation to extra-snack, especially when you are under a lot of stress.

A couple of gained pounds is probably the last thing on Earth that will make you feel better about yourself and your life/ job/ love.  So, please, stay away from the evil snacks!

5. Don’t drink when eating …
I used to eat much more and feel less full because I tried to have 2 glasses of water with each meal (it seemed so much easier to have my 8 glasses of water with food).  But turns out drinking water (or any other beverage, especially ice-cold beverages) when eating actually makes us feel less full and the water we have with food also does not let the food get digested properly.

So the best thing is to drink water before eating or to have a hot cup of tea.

20 minutes after your  meal.  This way you will feel fuller eating less and will still have your daily amount of water!
